I am worried about my hearing...

Ask yourself these questions:
  • Do you find it difficult to follow conversations in groups or meetings?
  • Do you miss key words in a sentence or frequently need people to repeat themselves?
  • Do you often need to increase the volume of the TV or radio?
  • Has someone close to you mentioned that you might be having problems with your hearing?
  • Do you think everyone mumbles?

If you have answered yes to any of the questions above you may have a hearing loss and would benefit from a hearing test.

How to arrange a hearing test:

First step is to go to your G.P. and explain the problems you have been experiencing with your hearing.

Your G.P. will consider what might be the cause of your hearing loss. It might be decided that you need a hearing test.

Exercise your patient choice. Ask your G.P. to refer you to Action for Deafness.
